This is our second proposal (first one: https://bit.ly/2L76f5T) and as this was a very close one we heard the community and decided to make some changes. The major one is the fact that we will be exhibiting an ATM from Bitugax where people will have the opportunity to learn and buy SMART. We also reduced the amount requested from the first proposal and announced more speakers!

Launch Conference results from the cooperation between Launch and Guimarães City Council, with a common goal of sharing knowledge and enable networking between individuals who share same interests.
At Launch Conference we aim to discuss the technology in general and not focus on a particular application. It is our understanding that, in order for Cryptocurrencies to be adopted, one must first understand why they are so special – and that comes with understanding the technology behind it.
Launch Conference is a unique event aimed to discuss the potential and usability of Blockchain technology, helping to create innovative solutions for various industries. A list of individuals who range from theoretical to practical knowledge will be attending the event as Speakers to share their experience on the Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies topic.
We expect to receive 200 attendees on the event – the venue full capacity – and through paid and unpaid advertising we expect to reach more than 100.000 people.
WHO WE ARE
Launch is a not-for-profit, independent and unofficial entity composed by a group of individuals who come from different areas – Business, Marketing and Technology. Our goal is to help shaping the future by providing the necessary tools for individuals to thrive. Launch is a synonym to ‘introduce something new’, which is exactly the aim with this event – introduce attendees to Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies.
Guimarães City Council is a co-organizer, an important partner that grants the event with much higher visibility and helps with the adoption of cryptocurrencies.
This event targets business executives, entrepreneurs, students and enthusiasts who are looking to know more about Blockchain, how the technology might affect their businesses or how to develop new solutions. It is also a great opportunity to anyone who’s interested in understanding how cryptocurrencies work, its benefits and how to buy them - especially SMART.
WHEN AND WHERE
Launch Conference will be held on May 31 in Guimarães, Portugal. The “Plataforma das Artes e da Criatividade” (Platform of Arts and Creativity), a multiple award-winning building, will be the home for the event (check more on the bottom of this document). Located in the heart of the city, on a crowded location, is the perfect place for such an event. The auditorium has a capacity for around 200 attendees and is full covered with all the necessary support services for a successful event.
The city in located in the North of Portugal, 30 minutes ride from Porto, Portugal’s second biggest city. Its historic town center is listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001, in recognition for being an “exceptionally well-preserved and authentic example of the evolution of a medieval settlement into a modern town” in Europe. It is also one of the most industrial municipalities in Portugal. Its primary industries are textiles, shoe industry and metalomechanics.
Guimarães is used to hosting big events. In 2004 it was one of the host cities for UEFA Euro 2004, it was named the 2012 European Capital of Culture and will held the UEFA Nations League Final Four in June, less than a week after Launch Conference .
Guimarães is also an innovation hub and is looking to improve even more, hence the need for such events. AvePark , the city’s Science and Technology Park, is home to, for instance, Farfetch , the first Portuguese Unicorn (over $1B valuation).

The fact that SmartCash is the most community driven project on the Blockchain space matches exactly with our vision. At Launch, we believe that an active community is essential for mass adoption of any disruptive innovation – like Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies.
SmartCash also fits with our target audience – (1) merchants and business executives who are always looking for new and different ways to sell their products; (2) entrepreneurs and enthusiasts who already know something about Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies and are looking for new projects to dive in and (3) students and young people who are always open to new technology and are eager to contribute.

We have worked on a proposal of perks and benefits that we can offer in order to help developing the community and contribute to mass adoption. Of course, we ask you to comment on it and suggest any modification that you might seem fit.

Logo on event individual badges;
Logo on welcome poster (event entrance) (note: this will be seen not only by the attendees but also by the thousands who passes by – it is located on a very crowded area);

Promotional video transmission (in loop) on live display (coffee-break zone) (no sound);

The amount requested is solely for administrative and management costs, as:
- Cover guest speakers travel costs;
- Provide coffee-breaks and lunch/dinner;
- Graphic material (roll-ups, posters, shirts,…);
- Photo and video coverage;
- Other minor costs.
This event and the organizations involved are not for profit. No organizer are entitled to any SMART as any type of payment for any type of service.
Also, please beware that we will not withdraw or spend the money all at once to avoid any possible crashes in price.
