Modern day youth are consumed by screen time and as a result are lacking the benefits that physical activity can provide. SmartFit is a program that will incentivise kids, teens and adults to engage in sporting activity by rewarding them in the form of SmartCash, which then can be used to redeem sporting goods related to their chosen discipline. Awareness of the real world applications for SmartCash as a currency will become apparent throughout this program.
My name is Matthew and together with my daughter Matilda we are actively involved in crypto currency. Since 2013 we have experienced the highs and lows of the crypto market. We are currently mining and staking SmartCash and can envisage its use in our business model.
Both of us are high ranking karate-ka at our local dojo, thus this plan can be implemented with ease. We also attend various tournaments around Australia throughout the year that are lacking quality sponsorship.
A majority of Australian children are spending more than the recommended two-hour daily limit for screen time (watching television, on computers and playing electronic games).
At 4–5 years old, children average more than two hours screen time per week-day. By 12–13 years old, this increases to more than three hours average per week-day and almost four hours per weekend day. This means that up to 30% of a child’s waking time is spent in front of a screen.
In 2014-15, 1.2 million Australian children and young people aged 2-17 years were overweight or obese.
Childhood overweight and obesity is a major public health concern in Australia. Overweight and obese children are at risk of developing several preventable health conditions, and obese children are more likely to be obese in adulthood.
Although most children participate in individual and team sports, by the age of 13 this number tends to decline. Apart from the health benefits, being active in sports also has developmental, emotional and social benefits.
In 2017-18, the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ National Health Survey showed that two thirds (67.0%) of Australian adults were overweight or obese (12.5 million people), an increase from 63.4% in 2014-15.
Addressing overweight and obesity in Australia requires a multi-faceted, community wide approach.
SmartFit – get paid to keep fit. Incentivise sports activity attendance through weekly SmartCash payments.
We will roll out this program starting with our local karate dojo members.
50 participants will each receive instruction on installing a mobile wallet capable of transacting SmartCash. They will also receive a commemorative drink bottle featuring the SmartCash logo and the top 20 participants with the highest attendance will receive a limited edition tee.
Every hour spent training throughout the week will equal $1 AUD equivalent in SmartCash (approx. 80 SMART).
We envisage that by week 12 (1 term) most students will have accumulated enough SMART to purchase an item from the e-commerce store. Items available will include but not limited to – Gloves, Shin Guards, Mouth Guards, Arnis sticks, Karategi and tournament entry fees.
The e-commerce store will incorporate CoinPayments to accommodate the transfer of SmartCash.
Expansion of the SmartFit program will include the addition of other sports such as Tennis which has a large participation rate in Australia.
When the exchange mechanisms are readily available for fiat conversion (if required) we will encourage sporting organisations with their own in house stores to except SmartCash directly.
